The Playground

The Playground

Our Centre Playground is a natural setting where the children’s learning and discovery is extended past the fence line.
The children are free to explore, wonder, investigate and socialise throughout all areas of the playground. Creative play spaces include:

  • Large sandpit area where open ended exploration and creation occurs using sand, water and a number of resources including natural and recycled materials from our community.
  • Vegetable, fruit and sensory gardens which allow the children to have a hands on opportunity to plant, care for, and harvest yummy and healthy ingredients to taste, smell and feel.
  • Bike track which allows children the opportunity to develop gross motor skills using bikes, scooters and pedal cars. The bike track incorporates ‘safe play’ experiences including helmets, roundabouts and a traffic light.
  • Cubby House which is transformed into many different creative play spaces based on the interests emerging throughout the children’s play.
  • Dirt pit and balance area where children’s balance and coordination is challenged and strengthened everyday.
  • Interactive fort and soft fall area where children climb, balance, jump and crawl to extend their body and space awareness.
  • The natural environment extends past the fence line to where the children can hear and observe a wide variety of Australian native animals including kangaroos, koalas, ducks, cicadas, rainbow lorikeets and magpies.
